Jason Isbell

I simple couldn't help but writing a Post about the solo debut of one of my favorites Composer/Singer/Songwriter/guitarist/whatever...
It´s been a while since I got myself saying good night to all my friends on MSN, and kept on computer for just "one more song"...
Well, that definitely happened tonight. I'm writing this post on English because, well... I was already getting ready to go to bed 15 minutes ago, and writing on German is kind of hard.
So let´s get stared. Some of my favorites songs were composed by this guy... "Outfit", "Decoration Day", "Danko/Manuel"... They were recorded by Drive-By Truckers. So, after my brother told me that he was leaving the DBT the first thing that crossed my mind was:"Dammit! The Truckers will never be the same...". And they probably won´t, but that is not was this post about.
His solo album is quite different from his past works, probably because of the differences between his style and the 'rest' of Truckers (don´t think I don´t like the other people of DBT). But, since I´m speaking about songs that were composed by the same person they must have somethings in common.(Don´t ask me what, because I really don´t know).
So far, my favorite song is "Hurricanes and Hand Grenades", this song looks like 70e´s country song. But, the rhythm seems to fit well with the lyrics.
Something that make me like of his songs is the lyrics. I generally agree with Noel Gallagher when he said :"lyrics are shit". So, good lyrics for me are like a Bonus. And this album has this Bonus.
Now, I've heard the entire album one more time. And it´s seems even better. I'll go get some sleep.
If this post doesn't fulfill your needs on concrete informations... Go to the Jason´s official web site or something like that. Dude, this is a Blog!
Ps.: My brother wrote a Journal about Jason Isbell on Last.fm and you can read it here:
